Jewel Tyler always knew she would become an author and the love of reading inevitably directed her path. A native of Washington, D.C., Jewel spent her younger years giving back to the community through a Youth Arts organization, Pamoja, she founded. She left D.C. in 1989 to pursue a fashion design career in Los Angeles, California. Jewel obtained her Doctor of Naturopathy degree in January 2015. Currently Jewel spends her time studying and teaching the Word of God via a weekly teleconference - "A Voice Crying In The Wilderness Ministry".
Jewel spent the last twenty years in several successful fields. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her into several successful business ventures. She opened a chain of Exclusively Yours stores on the east and west coast - featuring handmade aromatherapy products, clothing and jewelry. She continued her fashion design career in the entertainment world as an image consultant to new and existing recording artists.
Through everything, Jewel never lost the dream to write and when the Lord called her in 2005 to "put pen to paper" regarding her walk with him, she answered by penning her intimate journey with God in the form of a book. The Skin I’m In – An Intimate Journey With God is the first in a series of books Jewel has published.
Jewel has received numerous certificates over the years as a guest lecturer for colleges and universities. Her awards include nods from the late Mayor Tom Bradley, Michael Woo as well as Maxine Waters in Los Angeles, for her successful fashion design business and youth outreach programs. Jewel was spotlighted in ‘Book Writing Magazine’ and also a guest on ‘The Write Stuff’ and 'In The Room At Noon' radio talk shows. Jewel has received a five star review from ‘Readers Favorite’ for The Skin I’m In.
From The Author
Writing "The Skin I'm In" was one of the most difficult tasks I have ever set out to do. Delving back through my past and reliving experiences I would have much preferred to stay as a lost memory. To fully express exactly what I was going through when being raped, or being physically and mentally abused by the men in my life was not easy. I believe the most challenging portion of the book to write was about my brother's deaths. Digging through old newspaper articles that explained explicit details of how my brother was murdered took months to put pen to paper.
However, I realized that every time someone new would cross my path and I would minister to them I was constantly referring to stories in my book about my testimony and how I overcame my adversities. I knew I had to stop procrastinating and finish the book. I have laughed, cried, walked away from the project to only return realizing I had to give God the glory for everything I made it through. I know the book is anointed because many have stepped up to the task of assisting me with editing, only to find themselves under spiritual attack and they walked away.
It has been such a wonderful feeling being contacted directly by readers, expressing how my book has and is blessing them! Now that makes all the work, tears, joys and sorrows it took to complete the book worth everything I went through to write the book.
Jewel teaches the following lesson: "In Matthew 28:18 - Jesus states he has now been given ALL AUTHORITY - what does that exactly mean?"

Join Jewel on her journey in "The Skin I'm In - An Intimate Journey With God" as you will discover how she overcame life's adversities through her relationship with God. 'The Skin I'm In' is about an incredible journey of a woman who thought she had control of her life only to find out God had preordained plans and a different agenda. Those plans take her on a journey even she could not understand. Her life was anything but ordinary. She was abused, jobless and continual loss of close loved ones. Finally, she hit rock bottom with no signs her life could be anything more than living in hell. She survives it all because of several visits from God and the development of their personal spiritual relationship. She is sharing her story for all to witness how she overcame all of the obstacles life threw her way through her relationship with God.
Are you currently or have you been in an abusive relationship? I have shared here an excerpt from my book of what I endured as a young girl. And my decisions later affected not just me but my child as well.

Have you really encountered real SPIRITUAL WARFARE?
Two years ago, I was faced with receiving the most difficult news in my life. As I lay in the hospital trying to remember my telephone number, address and things that come to mind naturally. A female doctor walked into the emergency area where I lay with IV's connected to my hand that had no feeling. My spine felt like it was on fire. My left leg was useless. She asked, "Has anyone ever checked you for Multiple Sclerosis?"
My first response was "what is Multiple Sclerosis?" My second response was "of course not." o

My spotlight herb for Women is Red Raspberry Leaf Tea, not mixed with any other herbs but just straight Red Raspberry. I have recommended this tea to countless women and the accolades and thanks I receive from them you would think I was a heaven sent! I have encountered so many women that suffer with that special gift that Eve gave to us all. That time of the month and labor pains during child birth! Either they have an issue with not having a menstrual cycle regularly, or when they do; they are bedridden with cramps and bloating . I was once in that category and I suffered every month. If I had only known about this Tea years ago my suffering would not have been so difficult.
God created man, then he took mans rib and created woman. Ribs encase a mans heart. Which means a woman is the closest thing to a man’s heart. I hear so many stories from men how tender their heart is when it comes to a woman they truly love and adore. He may have a tough exterior and demeanor; he is supposed to he is man who was created to cover a woman’s head and protect her and love her!
